Polycom, Inc., the leading company in the field of Unified Communication compliant to the global standard, and V-cube, the visual communication platform provider that can be used anytime, anywhere and by anybody, have today announced that they will jointly develop the sales channels and the technological mutual connectivity and agreed to pursue the strategic alliance.  Through this partnership, V-cube will use the Polycom RealPresence Platform and develop a function that will allow V-cube's web conferencing system to be connected interchangeably.   Once this technological connectivity is accomplished, then the certified channel partners of both companies will be able to propose both Polycom video conferencing and V-cube web conferencing systems at the same time to the end users which will have great impact on the expansion of visual communication market.

In the visual communication market, both video conferencing and web conferencing are expected to grow continuously but with greater needs to use both systems at the same time depending on the style of communication.  By having No. 1 players in video conferencing and web conferencing* working jointly to provide such seamless interchangeable connection, they will be able to satisfy the market needs.End users can fully utilize the features of video conferencing and web conferencing depending on the types of meetings and can definitely enhance the productivity.In addition, by realizing the collaboration of high definition visual communication and the easy-to-use web conferencing, the resulting service will greatly enhance the competitive advantage. Under the agreement, both companies will engage in the following areas of development.

・Joint sales and marketing activities through their sales channels.
・Both companies to provide "V-cube Meeting" (SaaS model) and
"Polycom HDX Series" to allow video and audio interconnected service.
・V-cube to provide H. 264 support to allow high definition interconnection.
・Both companies to develop gateway for the interconnection of audio and
video communication between "V-cube Meeting" (On-premises model) and
"Polycom HDX Series."
・V-cube Meeting (SaaS) to provide H. 239 support, to allow interconnection
of whiteboard function, document sharing and desktop sharing functions
in addition to the audio and video interconnection.
